Monday. Camping la Viorna, Picos de Europa.

A ninety mile drive inland and uphill into the Picos de Europa. From blue skies to grey. We stopped off at La Hermida in the Hermida Gorge and walked a river path.






We made a special pilgrimage to see The Church of Santa Maria, a tenth century church, said to be the finest in all of Asturia. Closed on Mondays!



We saw this tree near the church and could sympathise with it.
