Rain kept us in, doing chores and reading. Sorting used and and clean stuff after two weeks is necessary. And it is surprisingly nice to fetch out the clean things in the hold, and get a whiff of what bedding and clothes smell like like at home. Which is, very pleasant, and something to look forward to in a fortnight.
It is also necessary not to be too far behind when returning to Welsh classes after missing four, or five weeks. Revision of lessons one to five in the new book, and only lessons five to ten to go, which might put me ahead of the others or might not, depending on how hard they have been working.
The photographs give a good flavour of our afternoon walk. The town was indeed delapidated in parts, especially the ancient and beautiful Moorish influenced hermitage, which had split into two pieces at least, so that the tower side was actually coming away from the rest of the building.
It was great to glimpse the golden oriole again and the wood chat shrike was a surprise. The birds and flowers were in orchards which are plentiful here. They seem to be mostly cherry and almond trees. They are watered with a system of pipes and water from a small reservoir, and are kept fresh that way.
The bee eaters kept us company as we walked and we have got used to their chattering and piping. We had a thunderstorm after we returned but it is clear again now, after supper, and we will walk out again, perhaps we will see the super fast high speed train again, which goes at over 200 miles an hour, not far from here.
